I'd
like to share a photograph when I visited The Vivien Leigh Collection
today at the Haynes Fine Art Gallery at the Cotswolds in Worcestershire.
The collection was small but that didn't matter because it meant a lot
to me to see some of Vivien's furnishings that she had at Notley Abbey.
I
asked when I arrived if I could take photos but they told me I
couldn't, but later on my parents and I spoke to Tony Haynes who owns
the gallery (he specialises in 19th to 21st Century British and European
art) and we talked about Vivien for a bit. He knew it would mean a lot
to me if I got a photo with the collection so he said I could stand next
to the Tapestry Wing-Back Armchair (Apparently Laurence Olivier's
favourite chair to sit in) so I stood by it and my mum took the photo.
It
was very kind of Tony Haynes to allow me to get a photo because the
collection is his now and he's very passionate about antique furnishings
and paintings and I know he'll take care of the collection.
