Blank Space ideas

 Continuing on with my Blank Space project I managed to complete 19 research/development sheets exploring Fashion and Textile ideas. From there I've started creating mood boards to help me focus on different directions I could take my textiles into.

In my textile lesson I experimented using White Flock and Heat Press Foil on different types of white fabrics using a heat press. I think using these materials work very well and look effective.

To help with my research and development work sheets I wanted to bring some secondary research to help me further, so today I visited Birmingham Art Gallery and Museum and took some photos that I think will help me. My new project is called 'Blank Space' so these photos I've taken are what they mean to me for this project.

Experimenting with textiles

 Today I have been experimenting some more with textiles, I continued with overlapping circles in felt, velvet denim combined with embroidery.

 Using denim and velvet I created a simple weave and then using a decorative stitch on the sewing machine I stitched along some of the strips. I think it looks pretty :)   

Designer Logo Name

For the past 2 weeks I've been designing my new designer logo/brand, I'm not sure if its what I want but for the time being I'll share it and see how it looks on my blog and on my own pieces of work that I create.

I wanted my logo/brand to look feminine as I'm interested in designing feminine looking clothing.

So today I've been experimenting in my textile lessons using velvet and denim combined with embroidery. I used a lazer cutter to cut different sized circles out of my fabrics. Fun times!

HND Fashion and Textiles

Hello, my name is Debbie and this is my new Fashion and Textiles blog. I'm on my second and final year at college studying a HND in Fashion and Textiles, its been stressful but amazing and I've learnt so much.
